A sunset ride to celebrate Bauhaus in Berlin
Ride into the golden hour and discover how the people of Bauhaus lived in and reshaped Berlin’s streets and skyline.
Join us for a laid-back 13 km sunset tour exploring the adventures of modern designers, with music that reawakens the city’s radical past in vivid detail.
Bauhaus is Berlin. Beyond Weimar and Dessau, its charismatic stars — Walter Gropius, Johannes Itten, Mies van der Rohe, Lucia and László Moholy-Nagy were deeply rooted to the Berlin scene with their innovative furniture and architecture.
We created the VeloNotte Bauhaus route to show their masterpieces and tell the story of how the creative class of that dramatic and fast-moving era lived and spent their days in the city on the eve of the disastrous 1933.
A curated soundtrack with specially-produces mixes will transform your journey into a movie.
Start from Neue Nationalgalerie.
Easy, relaxed pace.
Duration: 2 hours 55 minutes.
Children under 12 participate free of charge.
Bring your bike (or rent one nearby), earbuds (or headphones), switch on your lights, and let’s time‑travel through Bauhaus Berlin together.
Guided by Sergey Nikitin-Rimsky, historian & VeloNotte’s founder.
The route was first premiered for Bauhaus100 Festival commissioned by Kulturprojekt Berlin.
Co-production of VeloNotte International & Architectuul.
Original route was developed by Dr.Nikitin-Rimsky with contributions from Prof. Thomas Flierl, Dr.Idil Efe (Germany) and Dr.Xiangnan Xiong (China).
